The collection of illustrations that would become Gemini Studio Art were created starting in January 2008. Over the next three years I would create hundreds of drawings, taking influence from my Chicago neighborhood of Wrigleyville. I drew dogs - lots of them. Our neighborhood had an abundance of breeds and I received numerous requests for new illustrations from patrons at the Saturday morning farmers market where I sold my first handmade works .I also found inspiration from my day job; designing labels for whiskey and tequila bottles at a downtown Chicago package design firm. The detailed label elements of would become the basis for some of my unique typography arrangements and signage pieces.
In 2009 I left my day job and opened a studio in my hometown of Perrysburg, Ohio. Today my collection boasts over 1000 designs, and while my most popular pieces are still dog illustrations, I now have designs in dozens of themes and style.
My original works are available direct from my website and Etsy shop as well as a select number of retailers nationwide. To expand my creative offerings outside of wall art, in 2011 I partnered with Demdaco to create the Dogs Rock Collection. This collection includes hundreds of items from keychains and mugs to throw pillows and clocks. To find a Demdaco retailer near you, visit their website.
Outside of my illustration collecitons, I also accept commissions for consumer packaging, household goods and promotional items.
